On Saturday we went to Opel-Zoo in Kronberg with Ian and Sylvi. The boys decided to go in our car, so Sylvi, Inara and I went together. The zoo was quite a nice one, but so many hills! There were some really steep bits, so I had to get one of the guys to push the pram for me. We saw all the usual animals, and Inara showed absolutelt zero interest! We got her out at the giraffe enclosure but she opened one eye, looked about and went back to sleep! Ah well, when she's older I'm sure she'll love it.
After the zoo we decided to go into the town of Kronberg. It's so pretty! The old part of town is full of cobbled streets and beamed houses. We saw one house dating from 1300 with some very original features. The streets were (again) quite steep. At one point Ian was pushing the pram and was almost vertical trying to get up a hill! We stopped to have some food, and then Mark wanted to walk to the Berg (castle), so off we went. We walked about for a while before finding our way there, only to discover that there was a concert taking place and we would have to pay 21€ to get in! We decided not to go! Still, it was a lovely walk and we all enjoyed ourselves.
The route home was eventful. The boys followed us because we had the sat nav, but we kept going the wrong way! Stupid sat nav woman would say 'turn now' as we were passing the exit we wanted! It took us an extra 15 minutes to get home, but we got there in the end!
Sunday was Father's Day in the UK, so Mum sent me over a small teddy bear and card for Mark from Inara. We woke him up with them in the morning and Mark got the best present ever - her first real smile! It was a beautiful, gummy grin that was definitely a response to me talking to her and not wind! I'm hoping she will now do it more and more so I can get a photo of it.
Inara wasn't seen by the midwife last week, so I have no idea of her current weight. She seems heavier to me!
Some of my favourite photos from last week:
