First jabs :(

Sleeping it off!

Inara had her first set of jabs today (tetanus, diptheria, whooping cough, polio, Hib (flu), Hepatitis B and Pneumonia). Poor little thing, she was so happy in the waiting room, giving us gorgeous smiles and laughing. Then it all went downhill....She had one jab in each chubby thigh and she was not happy! Mark laid her on the bench and the Dr gave her the jabs. She just looked up at me and her little mouth turned down, the lip quivered and her eyes filled with tears before she just let loose with a huge wail! I didn't do so well and welled up myself. She was just crying and looking at me as if to say 'Why did you let her do that Mummy??' - it was awful! She was so brave though and as soon as Mark picked her up she stopped crying and tried to smile again. She even got two little plasters on her 'wounds'! She has an innoculation passport now where we can keep track of all her jabs. The next lot are between 6-7 months.

Afterwards she slept for about an hour and then was a bit grumbly. This evening she had half an hour of crying on and off and nothing could comfort her. She's now sleeping it off again after I gave her a baby paracetamol suppository! Poor thing, jabbed in both legs and then had to have a tablet in the bum! I'm, hoping she doesn't feel too bad tomorrow, so far she's not had a fever or anything.
