Happy New Year!

So I'm a few days late with my new year wishes, but hey, better late then never!

We spent NYE with Claudia & Sven at their house as they had Yodi the cat the look after. It was a quiet affair but a lot of fun. We ate Raclette, see above, which is from the French 'to scrape'. You prepare food in small dishes, anything from pineapple and corn, to beef and salmon. Once that's ready, you take your individual grilling pan and fill it with whatever takes your fancy. The meat/fish gets cooked on top and the pans get covered in cheese and stuck under the grill to cook and melt. It's so yummy!

After that we just sat around talking and being silly until midnight, when we went out onto the roof garden to let off some fireworks. Compared to what was going on around us, ours were pathetic! The Germans go totally crazy with fireworks, in every direction you looked there was an amazing light show which lasted a good hour. Sven took some photos which I will upload when he sends them to me.
